Well, I have managed to get and compile the source code twice. only to get "Illegal instruction" when running worldserver. authserver works fine. I am running Debian linux. The version of the code I am using: whatever version git gave me. As far as what database version, I don't know that either, but it doesn't matter at this point because it isn't even getting that far.
