Sorry, we don't support repacks. If you require help with your TrinityCore system, we help if you have issues that are beyond the usual (which is mostly covered in the howto), but we do not support repacks. Go ask the dev that provided the original repack file for clarification.

Sorry, but it's a bit late at my time so I'll cut it short.

A SQL is... a SQL, basically. Nothing to ask there. Google again if necessary. Everything you need, you can find with a bit of time with google. Else, the forums are a great way to look information up. Or the wiki. Read through stuff, learn from it, do it. Nothing left to do here. We put a lot of effort on making things clear for people. You just have to show a fraction of that to siphon from our efforts.

Some people don't seem to understand that if you buy a Ford conversion van and then contact Ford to ask why your TV isn't working, they will tell you, while we did make the original frame, engine, etc. for your vehicle, we did not put the conversion body or any of the seats, carpeting, or, even electronics in it, and cannot provide you with help on your issue, please contact the company that actually did the conversion for help with those issues... the analogy isn't perfect, because Ford can generally, still help you with issues you have with the parts they did build, because they have records that show what was changed by the conversion company, and what they put in it, while we don't have any clue whatsoever what the repacker changed, and, so, we just steer clear of supporting "conversion cores" at all.

Saved that quote for the future. Cheers.

Reinstalled everything again on a Debian server and everything works without opening ports or editing /etc/hosts. Incredible.

So you reinstalled on a different OS and it magically configured itself?

I'm a hardcore Linux fan, but I found even that hard to believe mate.

I don't see why i would be lying to you. Maybe i didn't explain myself correctly. On centos (previous host) I couldn't go out of the stuck on retrieving characters problem. I spent one week trying everything i could. Now I reinstalled everything on another host company but this time with Debian. I am able to connect without problems without touching ports or /etc/hosts. Obviously I configured authserver.conf and worldserver.conf.

I don't say it's because of the OS, probably it's something about the host provider but at least I know the problem i had on first server was not completely my fault.

  • 1 month later...

So I've been busy for the whole day setting up my WoW server on an external linux (Ubuntu 12.0.4) server, but when I start up the world server and authserver I got a problem.

The worldserver starts up without any problem (I guess) cause this is the (last part of the) log:

WorldSocket::handle_input_header(): client (account: 0, char [GUID: 0, name: <none>]) sent malformed packet (size: 8, cmd: 1867972641)

This is the log when I start up the authserver:

OpenSSL 1.0.1 14 Mar 2012 (Library: OpenSSL 1.0.1 14 Mar 2012)

Opening DatabasePool 'auth'. Asynchronous connections: 1, synchronous connections: 1.
MySQL client library: 5.5.31

Connected to MySQL database at 127.0.0.1
MySQL client library: 5.5.31
MySQL server ver: 5.5.31-0ubuntu0.12.04.2
Connected to MySQL database at 127.0.0.1
DatabasePool 'auth' opened successfully. 2 total connections running.
Started auth database connection pool.
Updating Realm List...
Added realm "World of Legends" at 159.253.4.90:8085.

The problem is, when I try to log onto the server with a WoW client, it keeps stuck at 'Authenticating'.

Could anyone help me solve this issue?

My realmlist table is set up like this:

name: World of Legends

population = 0

Please don't post your external IP. This isn't an advertising forum!

I need to have this as my Signature...

If one of the steps is missing in this checklist, than most likely you are having an issue connecting from the outside in.

Your neighbor has the wtf modified with the public IP (DNS)... (check)
Your neighbor is using the exact version to connect to your machine... (check)
Your machine has the DB, the authserver, and worldserver all running on it... (check)
Everything from the .conf has localhost or 127.0.0.1... (check)
Your router has 8085 and 3724 forwarded... (check)
The firewalls are enabled to communicate through 8085 and 3724... (check)
Your neighbor can ping the public IP (DNS) that you obtained from, lets say whatismyip.com ... (check)
You verified that public IP matches the DNS that you are hosting... (check)
Last but, not least. You put the public IP in the DB.realmist, and relaunched authserver... (check)

Your neighbor is able to connect... (fail)

1 of the above steps is either missing, or needs to be reconfigured.
If you modify your own .wtf file with your public IP (as if you are outside) and able to connect,.. than so can your neighbor

Also, why are you appending port 8085 ??

WorldSocket::handle_input_header(): client (account: 0, char [GUID: 0, name: <none>]) sent malformed packet (size: 8, cmd: 1867972644)

This explains that you not supposed to do that, it's appending 8085 twice, thus resuling in this worldsocket malformed packet

Hello. I know this is a common problem. I googled a lot, but I was always seeing problems, where they have problem with connecting his friend on their servers. I have problem with connecting to my own server. Every time i want to log in, only appears realm list window. All my DB is on the same machine. I tried to change ip from classic localhost (127.0.0.1) to my private ip etc. It didn't help.

You didnt google hard enough.

I came up with 37 results using search. All of them sufficent to the searches with the exact problem you are having.

The only thing you need to do in you CONF files is to add in your database username and password and that's it. You leave 127.0.0.1 for all the I.P Addresses.

You also didn't mention anything about forwarding ports in your router. So, technically that's not it.

I've een searching this for the last hours and I can't find anything about it more than people who want their friends to join

im NOT trying to make it local/public, I wana learn The base of scripting but this prevents me.

so I take it quick

and no this is not  for making the server public, I can't just connect and create an character because when I press the server it says connected for 1-2 min and then it says I lost connection to server
