CFGhost
EDIT: There i fixed it for the Developer, somehow i was advertising.. I notice why though, because it included my servers name. My bad... Hey guys i recently migrated a new dedicated server from a VPS so i can continue working on something and i have ran into a snag... The server is running fine, it loads up super fast, but whenever someone tries to login it gets stuck at "Connected" after you select the realm, what could possibly cause this issue? Configs: Authconfig http://pastebin.com/aiBE2jvC <- World Config, too big to put on AC-Web An image to represent the issue :/ Hope some of you can help. Thanks! Will reward +rep to anyone who posts some useful information.
Kaelima
Check if you got ports open on the servers router (3724 and 8085 default). I assume you already have set the correct ip adress in realmlist table - auth database and same ip in realmlist.wtf. If you got a DNS you should use that instead of the IP on both of these locations.
CFGhost
Those ports are open when Trinity Core is running, but when it isn't they are not open... is that a bad sign? It is a legitimate dedicated, so there should be no need to open ports, correct? I also get this error, now that i changed to a DNS. desleal
hi, i have a problem with connecting from outside, i open the ports 8085, and 3724. I can connect from localhost realmlist but my friend can't connect from outside (external ip previously configured in the db). He typed correct acc id and pass, and enter. Then, a window appeared that said "connected to server". Then the window said "authenticating" and remained stuck. help please.
CDawg
Need more info, If your friend gets to the "authenticating window" then it sounds like he was able to get to the authserver. (not 100% on that) However, this is an issue with your router and/or your firewall preventing players from going though the port(s). Check that you have the external IP resolved in your router, your external IP in the realmlist DB is fine. Also check the ports in your firewall, which should only be 8085, and 3724 and nothing else unless you are hosting a website and/or other junk like mail. BTW anyone else reading this post should have thier firewall enabled. I read that a ton of people disable it. (not sure why) I have had over 400 people connect with my firewall on just fine. CDawg
Your conf files look fine. go to http://www.whatsmyip.org/ Then place 'those' IPs in your router. It should look like. XX.XX.XX.XX: 8085 -> TCP XX.XX.XX.XX: 3724 -> TCP Then open up your realmlist in the DB and put that same IP in 'address' Give your friends 'that' same external IP. Just make sure that the Windows firewall resolves 8085 as open as well as 3724, when you run authserver and worldserver the firewall should prompt you to allow access, That goes for all Windows versions. Welcome to WAN Turn your windows firewall back on!! It's just too easy hacking into computers these days.
King Reapzz
I got my Trinitycore server up and running, but when I try to login, I get to the realm list and I just loop there. It doesn't happen to anyone else. I have 2 other friends who are already online and playing. I have looked at EVERY guide on here for realm looping, and none of their problems solutions have been the same for me. Currently have it set up as: set realmlist 127.0.0.1 -- When I have it set to any other IP including mine, it does the same, or does not connect to the server at all. DB Realmlist address is blablabla.no-ip.org The ports are set to 8085 in worldserver and the database realmlist. The authserver port is set 3724. Schuetrumpf2
In your worldserver.conf file, what does bind-ip say? If it says anything other than 0.0.0.0, then you will have to use your realmlist. You won't be able to set realmlist to 127.0.0.
Athena
This was already explained by me many times. You set your client to the same realmlist as your friends have. Use your windows hosts file to re-locate the address to local ip.
mazu
Hi it seems that my friend keeps disconnecting on loadingscreens and we checked to see if it works normally on other servers and it did, the problem seems to lie within gm access for some reason, when the realmid is -1 it disconnects him, if it's 1 it keeps him on but disconnects when loading screens pop up, on 1 it just doesn't work, etc, could anyone help out? Ports: All are open and forwarded properly, checked on a portchecker. Dns is linked. ip is correct seeing as he is able to connect at certain points stated above. Don't know if this will help, but getting this error in server logs when he gets disconnected WorldSocket::handle_input_header(): client (account: 0, char [GUID: 0, name: <none>]) sent malformed packet (size: 36189, cmd: 718358803)

Zaranthos
The problem is with your server config. I'm not sure what you mean by gm access having anything to do with it since he can't connect properly either way. realmid -1? Huh?

Zaranthos
In your auth database under realmlist table what do you have? ID Name Address?
MrSmite
This isn't a realm ID issue or the player wouldn't even be able to connect at all. Is your friend using a hacked version of the client? Did they modify any of their MPQ files? If this happens only when a loading screen appears, it seems to me that something is broken on the client side. I remember when I was mucking around with trying to change the Draeni models into Night Elf models by editing the DBC files, I caused similar "malformed packet" issues when trying to /sit or /dance which not only disconnected me but crashed my client too.
