  1. I've developed a jQuery (javascript library we all know) plugin using in-game UI assets that I extracted from wowprogramming.com/utils/artbrowser/ The project is open source and non-commercial, just like TC... The question is, how should I license it in order to avoid a possible "take down" coming from Blizzard Lawyers? I've read this already: Looks good until I get into " You also agree that you will not alter, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise modify the Downloaded Content. ". Hell, I think I qualify for the "disassemble" thing... I'm not making money out of it, just like TC, I started this project for learning purposes only. I want to know if is there any way I can license my project in order to not be sued by Blizzard. I'm not pretty sure if I can use the same TC's license... Any hint/help will be really appreciated.

  2. IANAL The license that you pick doesn't really matter. I guess that your plugin falls in the category of fair use, just like a lot of other projects, fan sites and so on.

  3. Hi, 1. Yes, that is possible. You can distribute the connection_patcher.exe 2. See 1. 3. No. Everybody has to patch the game on his/her own. Give us some more info what exactly didn't work (connection.log for example) Regards, Carbenium

  4. Hi everyone! We're looking for new developers to assist with enhancing TrinityCore with proper SOAP/REST-based webservice-support - there's no pay, but a lot of glory! People that wants to get involved will get : *) a free copy of the TrinityCore sourcecode (available on GitHub, all yours for the picking!) *) opportunities to swear at the other devs in our IRC developers-channel (who doesn't want to do this?) *) lots of gray hair (unless hairless, like me) *) your code inside one of the most fun codebases to work on What we're aiming for: *) To actually start using the gSoap-library we've got in the sourcetree for something else than just being a mediator between executeCommand and prettified XML output. *) Exposing more functions to the public than is currently done - we have _1_ (one) function active per today - we're really awesome-sauce aren't we? Some minor, but important, requirements: *) You need to know how to code in C++. *) You need to understand how SOAP/REST works. *) You need to have a keen eye for details to avoid doing the same funny/silly/scary/whatever mistakes that the rest of us do all the time... If YOU want to assist in creating this, please give us a note here on the forums, or on IRC for those of you wandering by there!
