  1. The only supposed full enUS torrent gets to 98% and stops with no seeders. I had it sitting in my torrent client for two weeks at 98% before abandoning it.
  2. What do you have for the patchlist entry, (I have "enUS.patch.battle.net")? If I change the "realmlist" value to my private IP and leave the "patchlist" entry alone then it spawns Launcher.exe. The only way I can stop it is to change "realmlist" to my private IP too. Also, what does your Launcher.wtf say? I've seen some examples that have entries like "patchApplicationCompleted" and "TorrentHash" but mine doesn't have anything like that. Incidentally I've got a 17.8 GB client and I can log into the Trinity server but I can't log out. When I click "Exit Game" nothing happens. I also don't see any indication that any data is downloading.
  3. I only have a 17.8 GB client and according to "experts" it should be 20 to 21 GB. Also, if you delete the TFIL file and try to run background downloader it yells at you saying "no valid torrent". If I do what you suggest - change the realmlist to my server but leave patchlist alone, WoW.exe starts Launcher.exe. If I change the patchlist to my server then I can log in but no data gets downloaded. If I allow Launcher .exe to run it replaces my MFIL and TFIL with MoP files.
  4. Well, I finally got the server running (albeit with a crap ton of DB errors) but my client doesn't stream anything. What are your WTF settings (realmlist, config, launcher, etc.)? If I run background downloader manually it tries to download 6 GB of data for wow 5.1.0 because it reads the TFIL file and it seems I somehow got a MoP tfil.
  5. I think it would be beneficial to delete the contents of a post and leave a reason rather than just outright deleting it. You'll end up just getting repeats unless people know what was wrong. Case in point: A person posted a link to some DBC files in an ongoing thread. Rather than edit the post to remove the link and leave a "don't post..." message, a moderator outright deleted the post. Now I've been around long enough to know that certiain things shouldn't be posted but you have to keep in mind that new people are coming here all the time. It would be better for these people to find these "don't post..." edits when using the search feature to stop them from reposting the same things. IMO deleting posts is lazy and ultimately doesn't teach anyone anything. PS: In the past moderators used to edit posts to remove inappropriate things.
  6. I've been running it for over 8 hours and have no idea how much is left.
  7. Still extracting the MMaps, it takes a crap load of time. As for your TFIL suggestion, I couldn't get it to work. I started WoW.exe and it checked something on blizzard's server and then it started the launcher which then wanted to download MoP stuff. I think it has something to do with the MFIL file because the Launcher downloads one that says: version=2 server=akamai location=http://dist.blizzard.com.edgesuite.net/wow-pod-retail/NA/15890.direct/ server=limelight location=http://llnw.blizzard.com/wow-pod-retail/NA/15890.direct/ manifest_partial=wow-16309-1F7086575F8B693DE65EB37D9BC4AC7D.mfil Notice the "15890" which I believe is MoP. If you combine the URL as such: http://llnw.blizzard.com/wow-pod-retail/NA/15890.direct/wow-16309-1F7086575F8B693DE65EB37D9BC4AC7D.mfil you get an MFIL that has information for 15890 MPQ files so it automatically updates you to MoP. Edit: By the way, here's the enUS and EU Cata MFIL files if anyone's interested. It still doesn't work though because WoW.exe starts Launcher.exe which replaces the MFIL with a new one pointing to MoP data.
  8. It's too bad the core won't let you load without maps and vmaps. I keep getting errors that my maps are from an incompatible client version...
  9. I suppose I could always run the x86 client using the Windows On Windows architecture when I eventually update to x64. I've been procrastinating because 90% of my software is x86 and I really don't feel like trying to track down or even buy x64 versions. Also I think Windows is still too expensive but I don't want to switch to Unix.
  10. + I'm going to try your method after I get the maps extracted from my 17.8 GB client. I wonder though since I'm running the x86 version of the client, when I finally get around to building a modern PC if this will be a detriment. I downloaded the installer WoWLive-64-Win-15595.zip from Blizzard's thread (2012) in which they say it isn't fully supported but who knows... I have no way of running it since I don't have any x64 architecture machines available. I wonder if it truly is a 15595 downloader of if it will auto-update itself to MoP. Note: * Fixed a bug where users clicking on the download link in Blizzard's thread received a 404 error message
  11. @CDawg I'm curious how your client connected to the server for streaming, don't you block blizzard's servers in your hosts file or wtf? Also, did it stream you up to Pandaria or only Cataclysm? I might unblock my client and see what happens. If it works as you say I'll update my guide and credit you for the discovery.
  12. Which is next to impossible today. I guess when Trinity finally switches over to 4.3.4 there will be a lot of users that won't be able to come along. I've tried numerous times to get a "full" 4.3.4 enUS client and so far all I can get is one that's 17GB which I'm told is incomplete.
  13. Two part problem: First: There used to be a list of people who "liked" a post (for example: "Subv, Brian, Paradox and 3 others like this") but today I got a notice that someone had liked a post and when I went to follow the thread I noticed there was no list of "likes". Second: When you view "Likes" in your profile, it shows a list of posts that are liked but it no longer shows who liked it. Also the button that says "received" won't let you switch to see "given". Using Firefox 18.0.1 with NoScript and AdBlock (both set to allow the forums) if it matters.
  14. Indeed however if it's possible I think the background should stay green to draw attention to it.
  15. Just an FYI for others who might want to read it: Google Translate doesn't translate the page if you use the URL, it doesn't pass your login info to the forums so you get an error that you're not allowed to access the page. You have to log in and copy the whole page and paste it into Google Translate so here you go: Be warned, Google Translate butchers things... and IMO because of that, the guide doesn't really make sense.
  16. So I've seen the announcement about the custom search and I've read the thread linked to in the announcement. Is there any way to dismiss it now? It's just slightly annoying is all. I don't browse the web in a widescreen resolution all the time and it takes up several lines at the top of the page.
  17. You missed an SQL update (or several), `curhappiness` is a field in `character_pet` and would be in the DB with a proper installation and updates. Also, you seem to have a broken config or MySQL setup:
  18. That's probably not something you want to admit when you're asking for help... Anyway, the problem isn't with the core. You missed an SQL file somewhere along the way so the core is looking for a field that you don't have in your DB.
  19. Actually I think the problem is the borders. If you look at the image, you'll see a blue border next to the "TrinityCore" button and one on the other side next to the "Open Quick Navigation". Those are probably enough on smaller resolutions to squish the buttons together.
  20. The strange thing really is the message "You are not allowed to use that extension". I just tried it and clicked OK and it embedded the image anyway... except it was only a thumbnail and too small to be of use.
  21. Using the "Image" button in the editor toolbar. Also, just pasting the URL into your post used to auto-convert to an embedded image but it doesn't seem to work either.
  22. Interesting. I get the same problem on 1280x960 so there must be something wrong on my end.
  23. Yeah, I tried that but embedding still wouldn't work. It kept telling me that I wasn't allowed to use that extension (jpg or png).
