I have no idea why might this happen nor have I ever see this error before.

My only suggestion is to start from scratch, delete the build dir and re-clone the repo.

You did a bad merge with your source code somehow. You have conflicts to resolve in the file src/server/scripts/CMakeLists.txt

Reset your changes, clean sources, and try again

Thank you so much ! I was trying to accomplish this merge with Eluna , but did not succeed . know you how to build trinity core with Eluna ?

Try follow this guide: https://github.com/ElunaLuaEngine/Eluna/blob/master/docs/INSTALL.md
At the top of it is also a link to how you can try merge if you need that.

If your merges fail, TC has done changes or you have some custom changes of your own that need to be manually fitted to the eluna core changes.
Eluna is a fork of TC. The default installation guide instructs to use Eluna repositories so you can easily pull the latest changes from us without having to do manual updating to fit latest TC yourself.
Otherwise some ingenuity and knowledge is needed to be able to fix merge conflicts and other.

You are using the CMake GUI right? Your "Where is the source code" directory CANNOT be the same as "Where to build the binaries".

Edit: Mods can lock this thread, solved on IRC. Second post contains workaround.

I found a locked thread bearing the same error message, but the problem this time isn't that I have the wrong version of Boost (vs2013 libs, trying to install with vs2015 as in the locked thread). I have the correct version of Boost (1_59_0_msvc-14.0-64)  and the environment variables are correctly configured. Error text from CMake log:

CMake Error at cmake/macros/FindBoost.cmake:1184 (message):
Unable to find the requested Boost libraries.

Boost version: 1.59.0

Boost include path: C:/Boost/boost_1_59_0

Could not find the following static Boost libraries:

boost_system
boost_filesystem
boost_thread
boost_program_options
boost_iostreams

No Boost libraries were found. You may need to set BOOST_LIBRARYDIR to the
directory containing Boost libraries or BOOST_ROOT to the location of
Boost.
Call Stack (most recent call first):
cmake/macros/ConfigureBoost.cmake:32 (find_package)
CMakeLists.txt:62 (include)

I even tried renaming the directories in my boost install (they have no 'boost_' prefix by default) to no avail.

Also, IRC is dead for the night so I figured I'd post here.

Any help is appreciated.

Mods: This thread can be locked.

Solved over IRC with help from m3 and tkrokli. A workaround for this is to manually target each relevant library file in the CMake GUI as shown below. Make sure the "Grouped" and "Advanced" boxes are checked, then expand the Boost tree. Click on the Value field and a [...] icon should show up on the right to allow you to browse to the file.

Hi.

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bits.

Visual Studio 2015

Cmake 3.3.2

"I'm following the instalation guide exactly as it is. But when I going to specify the generator on Cmake (Visual studio 14 2015) I get the following error:

The C compiler identification is unknown

The CXX compiler identification is unknown

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:12 (project):
No CMAKE_C_COMPILER could be found.

CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:12 (project):
No CMAKE_CXX_COMPILER could be found.

Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!

See also "D:/Build/CMakeFiles/CMakeOutput.log".

See also "D:/Build/CMakeFiles/CMakeError.log".

The instalation guide says: If CMake do not recognize C/C++ compiler, choose Specific Native Compiler, and choose path to target vcvarsall.bat, e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 12.0\VC\vcvarsall.bat.

But I can't also find this "vcvarsall.bat." on my Microsoft Visual Studio 2015.

Thank you.

I've seen this error fixed by starting CMake in admin mode, maybe that works for you.

When you installed VS 2015, did you go to custom installation options and selected the C++ compilers? It's no longer enabled by default.

You're a scholar my friend. Thank you so much. It did work.

It should be updated in the instalation guide as a NOTE. Don't you think?

Thank you again.

Hey "Nay".

Since you're have been so nice and I don't want to open another stupid tread.

I wonder if you could help me with something really embarassing.

I'm having techical dificulties on changing the console colors! I read tha auth.cfg and world.cfg and can't understand what it says about these color.

I just want to set color to the same example the file gives me: "13 11 9 5 3 1".

What should I type?

Thank you one more time.

      Hi,

The chat channel Lookup for group is not available when a player isn't in a city. I tried to modify the worldserver.conf file with:
      #
      #    Channel.RestrictedLfg
      #        Description: Restrict LookupForGroup channel to characters registered in the LFG tool.
      #        Default:     1 - (Enabled, Allow join to channel only if registered in LFG)
      #                     0 - (Disabled, Allow join to channel in any time)
      Channel.RestrictedLfg = 0

I restarted the server but it didn't help.

      Thanks

Hey, I've been trying to compile from github the core from 6.2.3/6.2.4, I'm well aware its stopped developing. I cannot get it to configure properly in CMake, nor can I obviously build it.

I'd be willing to pay for help and get this working and running. I want to develop my own server on my freetime as a learning project and for entertainment. I can't find any core for WoD, sadly.. Very hard, would appreciate any quick help

I believe everything I have done up to this point has been correct. When I go to launch worldserver.exe a console window opens up for a second and closes right away and nothing else seems to have happened. I skipped a head a little in the instructions to see what is left and step 5 seems skippable since I am running this only for this computer and step 6 has me launch to a log in screen which I can not get to. I tried going to the faq but the page was not loading properly so I am forced to post here.

I'd just like to get a little insight to why so much of the current Trinitycore code doesn't match up to a few years ago.
Now I know I'm not a pro at coding on Trinitycore and I understand that the core is open sourced but these just seem so significant and doesn't seem right to remove this stuff.

Let me give an example. Lets say I'm watching this tutorial to get a little information about classes and methods that I can use when making a script. (I've also been using the Trinitycore Code Documentation as reference as well but it also seems to show the same issues)
Although the tutorial is a little out of date, I don't see why OnGossipSelect doesn't exist anywhere in CreatureScript and that when I try to link the script to the core code it spits out this error.
object of abstract class type "GossipTeleporter" is not allowed:
pure virtual function "CreatureScript::GetAI" has no overrider
The DEFINES of "ADD_GOSSIP_ITEM" and many more don't exist either.

Am I missing something? All I want to know is if the core is mean't to be this way and if not should I download an older version of the core before I put to much working into my current core.
(I downloaded my core right from the Trinitycore website tutorial)

I'm currently trying to write a simple gossipteleporter that will let you talk to an npc and teleport to the given location. It's very hard to do this when so many things just don't exist within my core.

EXTRA: I pasted this into a new custom script just to see if I would get errors and I got a lot of different errors: http://pastebin.com/raw/G62e0t49
This was obtained from here: http://www.ac-web.org/forums/showthread.php?129885-Request-Teleporter-NPC-for-TrinityCore
By no means am I looking to copy the code from the two links above, I was using them as a test to see if my core accepted them.

      Thanks,
